About the concert
Ukrainian music has been with us since childhood: in a mother's lullaby, in a grandmother's songs, in the voices that come together whenever family gathers. Some of these melodies reach back into the distant past; others have become so deeply woven into our lives that they, too, can rightfully be called folk songs.
On the eve of State Flag Day and Independence Day of Ukraine, we celebrate Ukrainian music—both the works we know by heart and those still waiting to be discovered. It is the music of a free, strong, our people.
