About the concert

This chamber music project is built around the idea of colour. Each concert in the series has its own shade, created from many elements: the timbres of voices and instruments, the titles of the works, moods, and impressions. The idea is simple: music can be experienced as colour, and a concert can become a space of rest and comfort where this palette unfolds throughout the evening. The programs are designed above all for Ukrainian listeners, who today especially need such an atmosphere.

Concert One: "Orange-Turquoise"

The palette of the first program reflects the colours of a summer that is passing: from warm orange (yellow, red, pink) to cool turquoise (blue, green, and light blue). From this come the images that shape the program: the sun, trees, forests, flowers, romantic evenings, starry nights, dreams, hopes, and songs of love.

The musical journey follows the same spectrum. The warmer, orange line is formed by romances and love songs: Lysenko’s settings of poetry by Oles and Heine, Liszt’s “Oh! Quand je dors” (“When I Sleep”), Grieg’s “A Dream”, and Debussy’s early vocal miniatures. Gradually, the palette cools and moves toward images of forests, trees, and water: Sibelius’s “The Trees”, Dvořák’s “Silent Woods”, Dychko’s “I Will Enchant the Forest”, and Debussy’s “En bateau” (“In the Boat”). Instrumental works—Massenet’s “Meditation”, de Falla’s “Ritual Fire Dance”, and cello pieces by Debussy and Dvořák—bring contrast and richness to the program.

This is an attempt to slow down the fleeting passage of summer: to catch its final rays of sunlight, take a few “photographs for memory,” and recall how we dreamed and loved.
