Throughout the 2022-2023 season, Katerina Bazhenova will perform works from various epochs, countries, and genres. Two concepts will run as a common thread: adaptation and revival. Adaptation represents the acceptance of reality, while revival signifies the successful endeavor to exist in that reality, create, and share joy with the audience through what one does best: playing music. Education/Training: National Music Academy of Ukraine named after P. I. Tchaikovsky. Awards/Honors: Honored Artist of Ukraine, laureate of the International Competition named after Mykola Lysenko in Kyiv (diploma for "Best Accompanist," 2007). Repertoire: Oratorios by Johann Sebastian Bach, arias from operas by Georges Bizet, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Giacomo Puccini; works by Franz Schubert, Johannes Brahms, Fritz Kreisler, Astor Piazzolla, Mykola Lysenko, Valentyn Sylvestrov. Notable Performances: Queen Elisabeth Competition (Brussels), All-Canadian Music Competition.
