Roman Lopatynskyi
Pianist. A graduate of the National Music Academy of Ukraine (class of Serhii Riabov), he studied under Boris Petrushansky at the International Academy Incontri col Maestro in Italy. He is a laureate of international competitions, including the Arthur Rubinstein Piano Competition, Concorso Pianistico Ferruccio Busoni, and Hamamatsu Piano Competition; participant in festivals such as the Newport Festival, Animato, and Heidelberg Fruehling Festival. Roman has performed at Ginza Hall (Tokyo), Steinway Hall (New York), Salle Cortot (Paris), Noosa Arts Theatre (Australia), Teatro Filarmonico (Verona), Act City Hamamatsu Concert Hall (Japan), as well as the Gläserner Saal of the Musikverein and the Schubert Saal of the Konzerthaus (Vienna). Since 2017, Roman has received grant support from the VERE MUSIC FUND. Roman Lopatynskyi has collaborated with renowned conductors including Michael Sanderling, Francesco Omazzini, Marco Boni, Ken Takaseki, Tao Fan, Theodore Kuchar, Nicolas Krauze, and Volodymyr Sirenko. He performs as a member of the chamber ensembles NotaBene Chamber Group and the Liatoshynsky Trio. In 2024, he earned a Doctor of Arts degree (creative and academic supervisor: Oksana Ryndenko). In June 2026, he won the Santa Cecília International Piano Competition in Porto. Among his most recent distinctions are the title of laureate at the Arthur Rubinstein International Piano Master Competition; Second Prize at the Ferrol International Piano Competition; First Prize at the Recondite Armonie III International Piano Competition; Fifth Prize at the Ljubljana Festival International Piano Competition; Third Prize at the Maria Canals International Music Competition; First Prize at the Neue Sterne International Piano Competition; First Prize at the Euregio Piano Award; Second Prize at the First International Piano Competition for Composers of Jewish Heritage; and Third Prize at the Jaén Piano Competition.
