Andrii Pavlov

Violinist, teacher, Artist of the National House of Music, member of the NotaBene Chamber Group, soloist of the National Philharmonic of Ukraine, and lecturer at the R. Glier Kyiv Municipal Academy of Music. Born in Kyiv into a family of musicians. After graduating from the R. Glier Kyiv State Music College, he entered the P. Tchaikovsky National Music Academy of Ukraine, where he studied in the class of Professor Vadym Kozin. Andrii’s professional development was significantly influenced by his studies with such musicians as György Pauk, Hatto Beyerle, Philip Setzer, Andrii Bielov, Krzysztof Smietana, and Johannes Meissl. Andrii Pavlov performs as a soloist with orchestras and ensembles including the ORF Radio-Symphonieorchester Wien, National Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine, National Ensemble of Soloists “Kyiv Camerata,” Chamber Orchestra of the Tbilisi Opera Theatre, Academic Symphony Orchestra of the Lviv National Philharmonic, Black Page Orchestra Wien, and the Academic Symphony Orchestra of the National Philharmonic of Ukraine, under conductors such as Theodore Kuchar, Duncan Ward, Nikoloz Rachveli, Gudni A. Emilsson, Volodymyr Sirenko, and Hobart Earle. His performances as a soloist and chamber musician have taken place across Asia and Europe, including at the Radiokulturhaus in Vienna, UNESCO in Paris, the Menuhin Forum in Bern, and the Chopin University Concert Hall in Warsaw. Andrii’s concert engagements include the Lugano Music Festival, Septembre Musicale Montreux-Vevey, Monteleon Chamber Music Festival, Klangwerkstatt Berlin, as well as Ukraine’s major music forums: KyivMusicFest, Contrasts, and Odessa Classics. In 2017, Andrii Pavlov was awarded the Levko Revutsky Prize by the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine. Andrii’s regular chamber music partner is pianist Valeriia Shulha. Their duo, Sonoro, is a laureate of the First Prize at the International Chamber Music Competition “Tallinn 2021” (Estonia), winner of the Grand Prix at the Plovdiv International Chamber Music Competition (Bulgaria, 2017), and laureate of the Third Prize at the Salieri-Zinetti International Chamber Music Competition (Italy, 2016), where Andrii was also awarded the special prize “Al miglior violinista edizione 2016.” The duo was also awarded Third Prize at the Johannes Brahms International Competition (Austria, 2015).
