On the last day of winter, we invite you to listen to Italian Baroque music from the late 16th to the first half of the 17th century. The program features madrigals by Claudio Monteverdi alongside instrumental works by his contemporaries—Girolamo Frescobaldi, Biagio Marini, and Dario Castello. The concert is shaped as a small dramaturgy of emotions: from lighthearted love and wordplay in early madrigals to more intense, almost theatrical scenes of late Monteverdi, including the Lamento della Ninfa. Instrumental sonatas and canzonas continue the conversation—without words, but full of character and movement. Tenderness and irony, clarity and inner fracture coexist here—everything we tend to experience in spring.
