Anatoly Bazhenov

Graduate of the Moscow Conservatory (under the guidance of B. Byelensky), professor at the P.I. Tchaikovsky National Music Academy of Ukraine, laureate of the Taras Shevchenko State Prize, and long-time leader of the M. Lysenko Quartet. He frequently performs as a soloist and chamber ensemble artist (over 200 concerts) and has recorded extensively for radio and television. In his performances, the works of O. Respighi, A. Webern, A. Berg, E. Elgar, W. Piston, A. Schnittke were first heard in Ukraine, and he has premiered works by contemporary Ukrainian composers such as B. Lyatoshynsky, M. Skoryk, Ye. Stankovych, V. Silvestrov, and I. Karabyts.
