The 2026/2027 season, the National House of Music is dedicating to the senses — and to the states we experience while listening to music. The idea is simple: to talk about classical music as one of the many everyday experiences we pass by each day without having time to fully feel it. The texture of objects, color, smell, touch — all of this requires a pause and focus that is so lacking in a world of fast information and endless scrolling. But music, too, has its own consistency, density, taste, and color. This year's season programs are often built on synesthesia — perceiving one phenomenon through senses not usually associated with it — becoming an occasion to stop and focus on your own senses through live sound.

Main events of the season. Listeners can look forward to large-scale cantata-oratorio evenings from the Liatoshynskyi Capella: Handel's "Messiah" on a festive schedule — with a literally new scale of sound. There's still time to catch Mozart's "Requiem" as staged by Yevhen Lavrenchuk together with the Ivan Franko Theatre — named Ukrinform's best production of last year, now competing for the "GRA" theatrical award. And in the spring, a work will return to the repertoire for the first time in a long while — the very piece that marked the founding of the ensemble's institutional identity: Bach's Mass in B minor. The best way to celebrate the composer's birthday.

Thematic cycles.

Projects and festivals. "Early Music Weekend. Residency 2.0" will once again bring together young performers in Bila Tserkva — masterclasses, networking, concerts. And Kyiv Baroque Fest, created together with the National Philharmonic of Ukraine and Open Opera Ukraine, will run from November 12 to 22: lectures, masterclasses, and concerts by baroque stars from Ukraine and abroad.
